• Studio Momenti features the work of Josef Willis and Lisa Ruschetti and is located in the historic downtown of Bristol Virginia/Tennessee.

    In addition to maintaining a studio in Bristol we travel frequently throughout the Southeast and beyond to photograph weddings.

    Additionally we have a summer presence in Butte, Montana where we primarily concentrate on high school seniors.

{ Joe + Tracie | Montana wedding }

Joe and Tracy had planned their wedding for their wedding at an historic overland Stagecoach way station between Butte and Helena. But just before the celebration, snow and rain forced a rescheduling to  their

home (a very nice location in the woods).   But we did a day after session and returned to the Stagecoach station for some photographs on the bridge Joe built for the wedding

Half of Montana showed up (at least I think it was about half when I stopped counting) and danced and sang until the  early morning.

PS. Yes, you read that right.  SNOW. June 17th !!!!  Who would have thought that?  Actually if you live in the Big Sky state it’s not that uncommon.  And that’s why I don’t live there!

{ Erin + Aaron on the Mountain | Engagement session }

I forgot a simple rule of elevation.  It’s colder at the top.

But the cold didn’t bother Erin and Aaron (say that five times, then turn and pin the tail on the donkey) as we headed to the top of the Roan Mountain balds.

Such a wonderful day.  And an awesome couple.  But it was so nice to get back within range of a heater after the sun dropped out of sight.

{ Back to Butte }

Just an update on our trip to Butte next month.  This time we’re only available from June 14th through 18 for senior portraits.  And the schedule is filling up fast.  Call to reserve your appointment today.

{ Katie + Tim }

Katie and Tim’s ceremony was delightfully simple.  Just the closest family and friends outside the Knob Creek Church of the Brethren in Johnson City.  However they had room for everyone under the big top at the reception.  Although rain threatened, it didn’t come close to dampening the spirits of all of those who  joined the celebration.

Beverly from Main Street Catering provided lots of great food to fuel this party.

{ Kristen – Tennessee High School }

I’ve known Kristen Rose for years.  We started photographing her for the Wilson agency in 2002 and it’s been great to watch her progress.

And all of her work and dedication are paying off this year.  She’s graduating from Tennessee High and won the title of Miss Tennessee Teen USA.

What a great year!

John Rose - Joe and Lisa,
Great job, this turned out so nice. I can’t wait to see the photos.

{ Samantha Casey + Modeling a Wedding dress }

When Samantha was in the studio a couple of months ago she did some modeling for our neighbor Stephanie of A Bridal Path.

We hadn’t posted any of these photographs before but now with the start of the “Wedding Season” I though it would be an appropriate time.

{ Whitney + Steve }

Whitney and Steve’s celebration reminded me of a famous science experiment.  You know the one where you take equal parts of Plutonium and blast them together till you achieve critical mass.

That is to say, this was one massive explosion of celebration and fun that could be felt all the way to Texas.

After a glorious celebration at  Johnson City’s historic Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, the wedding moved to the Carnegie hotel’s ballroom for a high octane celebration that kept everyone dancing till midnight.

DJ and party meister Robbie Britton kept the party rockin’  and coordinator Lisa Tolliver (Posh Productions)  kept everything moving smoothly.

All we had to do was to preserve the evidence!
